Getting You Back On The Road: Driver's License Reinstatement

If your driver's license has been suspended in relation to an OVI/DUI arrest or for other reasons, it's important that you take appropriate steps to protect your driving privileges. Like most people in Ohio and throughout the U.S., you can ill-afford to lose your license — your personal and professional responsibilities depend on it.

I am Robert R. Hart, Jr., and as your attorney, I can help you pursue the reinstatement of your driver's license with the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles. With more than 30 years of experience handling all types of traffic violations, I understand the laws, how to navigate the bureaucratic processes and procedures of the state agencies and local courts.

Appealing The Suspension Of Your License

The circumstances surrounding your driver's license suspension will dictate our options going forward. There are two types of suspensions: court-ordered and administrative-based. A court-ordered suspension may stem from an OVI/DUI arrest or other serious violation, such as a hit-and-run incident. Commonly, administrative-based suspensions are the result of a driver accumulating 12 or more points on their driving record over a two-year period.

I will look for every opportunity to see that you retain your driving privileges. In some cases, this just is not possible. However, that doesn't mean we're out of options.

For instance, I can work with the Bureau of Motor Vehicles to help you obtain limited driving privileges. We can show the court that it is imperative that you drive to work or that you need to drive to provide for your kids. We will work together to make sure you have insurance on your vehicle, gather documentation from your employer or your child's school to establish when you need to drive and where you will be going.

Regardless of the circumstances, I will use my experience and insights to make sure we explore every option for reinstating your license or at the very least, limited driving privileges.
